Right in the middle of trading day. Zecco.com isn't for the avid trader, folks. I doubt this is for a "scheduled upgrade" as they say it is. Why didn't they do this on Sunday when the markets were closed?
I initiated a funds transfer from my checking account at 8:00am EST this morning, and a check on some the market today looks like there are some good bargains. So I go to Zecco.com and it's down. How unfortunate. I'm sure I'll see other days for good bargains over the course of 2008.

I'm a newbie in trading world... but b'coz of this I almost lost more than $250 and could had made around $200 in morning session of the trade.

Yeh, this is amature hour! what kind of maintenence is done during a trading day?
sogotrade.com looks very good. I love the partial shares availability and the dividend reinvestment. That and they seem to be ACAT compatible, whereas Sharebuilder is not. $3 per trade is great. They don't seem to offer Options though.
I'm definitely done with Zecco. The free trades are not worth the frustration.Every other day they have some technical issues.
It is just bullshit about the scheduled updates. No one schedules updates on a working day! They definitely have some bigger issue to be taken care of.
As soon as Zecco is up, I would pull out my money from it.

Yes, Zecco.com had availability issues this morning. On top of that, a generic maintenance message was displayed for some users not being able to access the site. Naturally, Zecco never conducts site maintenance during market hours. We sincerely apologize for this downtime, and the corresponding inconvenience caused.

I'm probably not going to withdraw from Zecco over this outage. I'm not too impacted, as a day or two is small compared to my 30 year investment horizon.
I was really frustrated yesterday morning, but if this outage was just one off thing, I won't be pulling off from Zecco.
Well was surprised to see Zecco editor's comment here, it show that they have taken the issue very seriously. I appreciate the effort.
